If you’ve got an Apple silicon processor in your laptop or desktop computer, Reason is about to get a big performance boost! Reason 12.6 now runs on Apple’s latest processors, the M1 and M2 chips and you can expect to enjoy higher track counts, more devices in the Rack, and faster audio exporting or bouncing thanks to it. But new Apple owners don’t get all the new features — Reason 12.6 also introduces a whole new authorization method which allows for Reason to operate when there’s no internet connection available. That means on flights with no wifi, in basement music clubs with concrete fortress walls, or just at home when your internet connection goes down or the Reason servers are undergoing maintenance. Whatever the case, Reason will continue to launch with a generous grace period so you don’t ever have to stop making music.
