Tom Burford, also known as Contours, is a Manchester-based musician, producer, and DJ. Drawing from his background playing drums and percussion, his productions are heavily influenced by African and Latin American rhythms, as well as sounds from underground clubs. His sound is a fusion of House, Jazz, Afro-Beat, Electronica, and Hip Hop, with a focus on building infectious grooves.
Contours’ approach incorporates samples, field recordings, and live instrumentation to create a blend of electronic and organic elements. He has released music on London’s Rhythm Section label and played drums on Werkha’s debut album, receiving support from a range of respected artists in the industry.
