Audio Filters

Loopcloud has over 4 millions sounds. That’s a lot of sounds. Every loop and sample in the Loopcloud database has tags and any samples of your own that you import automatically gets tagged as well and, of course, you can manually add and edit tags – which is a different video that I will link below.

Loopcloud’s built-in tag filtering and searching is incredibly powerful, but sometimes, because there are so many sounds, you want to be a bit more specific to get more precise results. Enter Audio Filters.

The Audio FIlters are found on the right side of the app and include a few ways of narrowing down search results.

From top to bottom we can select major or minor keys. Then there is file length and stereo field sliders. Followed by one of my favorites, Release Date, for those looking for something new or something older. There is also a handy drop down if you just want to filter to releases from last week, month or year.

The Loops section has sliders for BPM, Swing and Rhythmic Density. Before moving on, there is a helpful button near the BPM slider that will for a bit above and below the current Loopcloud Session BPM to help you find files that won’t need to be stretched or squashed too much.

Finally, there are One Shot sliders for Attack and Decay times.

All of these filters are readily available for those looking for something a bit more specific for their projects.
